Many of you who follow my blog know that I love to
collect "Lions", this last photo is a very
special treat....

My husbands best friend just got back from a trip to Africa!

He took this picture in the Serengeti, which is located in
Northern Tanzania.

  The Serengeti is vast and beautiful;
it's one of Africa's most captivating safari areas,
and one of the most famous parks of Africa.

Even the tour guide after 35 years of doing guided tours was
amazed at the large number of Lions lounging in
this tree.....they counted a total of 22 Lions ~ wow!

Friends of  "The Sheepish Needle" have some updates....

Thank ewe for the wonderful response to the announcement
made on Friday for "The Sheepish Needle" Samplar Club...
coming in July!

Are you a needle worker who seeks out sheep samplars?
(then you are a lady after my own heart)

The Sheepish Needle ~ Samplar Club is excited to present
four, small, exclusive samplar kits per year that will
be dedicated to these peaceful wooly four legged
friends!

Each samplar kit will be designed with the mission to be
both practical and unique for the passionate
sheepish stitcher at heart ~~

~ Sheepish Trivia ~

Sheep are the most~mentioned animal in the Bible...more
than 500 times!

Secondly, sheep are used throughout the Bible to
symbolically refer to God's people.

Early sign up will begin next week....I'll keep you posted with
more details :)

My family and I went roaming the beautiful Wisconsin
countryside the weekend.

I was so happy to have my personal landscape photographer
in tow...my son Samuel!

There is something so majestic about the
Bald Eagle...so proud!

Patiently watching and waiting for dinner!

♦♦♦

Do you get to see dairy cows grazing in your neighborhood?

A lazy Sunday afternoon nap!

This beautiful spring weather has produced such wonderful
green pastures!

 "howdy~there"!

♦♦♦

Next up, are you ready to see some outstanding olde
barns?

Looks like a good wind storm could blow this one down!

It's nice to see a well kept barn that's still in good working
condition!

Wow, looks like this one was just freshly painted!

I love this one...totally weathered and prim looking!

Great looking and patriotic!

These olde tobacco barns are starting to get as
scarce as "hens teeth"!

It started raining, but I love the misty look of these two
horses grazing.

Hope you enjoyed the highlights of our
Wisconsin countryside drive.

But wait, first I must show you a special treasure I
found on our travels....

Antique Corticelli Spool Silk ~ lap work table!
Original labeling on both sides...this is the best side.

This side has more wear, but my husband, who is excellent
with paints and antiquing techniques has kindly
offered to restore the scratches...yay!

I found this at one of my favorite antique shops that is
unfortunately going out of business.
What a find...I've never seen anything like this before!

Plus, the price was right at 50% off of the original
price of $75.00, how could I not bring it home for only $37.50!

~ Weekly Soul Food ~

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
 for his name's sake.

~ The Sheepish Needle...Coming Soon ~

Hello friends....do you have anything special planned
for this Memorial Day Weekend?

I'm hoping for a quiet relaxing weekend, just spending
some quality time getting caught up on yard work...weeds
are out of control and flowers are patiently waiting to be planted!

♦♦♦

I totally love ~ love ~ love doing club kits, but I need one
more club to keep me busy all year long!

I'm very excited to announce a new club addition....

♦ The Sheepish Needle ♦ Samplar Club ♦

My three favorite themes when choosing a samplar to stitch
would be Sheep, Rabbits and Birds.

For years my stitching passion for sheep samplars kept me
on the road traveling from shop to shop seeking
them out!

The question was recently asked on Primitive Stitchers Society;
'What kind of charts are in your stash?'

The comments were very interesting and eye opening, confirming
there are LOTS of ladies who are just as passionate about
SHEEP as I am!

More information about
The Sheepish Needle will follow over the next
several weeks.

The first club kit is scheduled to ship around July 20th.

I'm over the moon excited about starting this new club....do you
love sheep samplars?

The past couple of weeks our old Scottie dog Winston
was really sick and gave us all a real scare!

After a visit to the vet and some meds he's back to normal.

He is the 'King' of the farmhouse and has found
a new spot to sleep...

During his recovery he decided to start sleeping in the
doorway to the kitchen, we all have to step
over him...but we don't mind!

♦♦♦

Oh, how is wish there were more hours in a day,
I would love to spend time gardening...

~ Through the Garden Gate ~
by Judy Condon

Soft cover, 144 pages.

I need some fresh ideas for this old farmhouse!

I like the old ladder in the corner...I'll have to go
rummaging through our sheds to see if I can come up
with one!

Okay, this farmhouse reminds me of ours, and I really
like the black urns & flags...I can do that!

I have plenty of rabbits, in fact one really
similar to this one!

Bee skeps, a big weakness of mine...I need some of these
neat bee hutches!

I can always find plenty of new ideas from this great
series of books.

♦♦♦

This afternoon there were two deer standing in our field looking
toward the farmhouse...

They were to far away and I couldn't get a descent
picture...rats!

They quickly spotted me and took off running!

~ Simple Country Living ~

Hello everyone near and far...welcome to my
simple country life here in West Salem, Wisconsin!

I'm happy to say that the first Humble Hare Handwork Club kits
and all weekend orders have all been filled and shipped...YAY!

Tomorrow, I'll be listing in my Etsy shop those beautiful
shell rings that I shared on Friday's post.

♦♦♦

I'm excited to share some great pictures of our
newest "hare~friend" here on the farm...

This new hare~friend has very dark chocolate brown
markings above his eyes...we've named him Henry!

We don't know for sure if this is a "fellow" but seems to have a
definite boyish look!

He has a great personality and very friendly!

Plus, he's a great listener!

This photo is not as clear as the others, but you can really
see the large brown eyes and dark eyebrows.

♦♦♦

Remember my new baby Robin from last Friday....

After weekend flying lessons, the nest is all empty now!

Once they decide to leave the nest...there's no going back!

♦♦♦

My chive plants love this beautiful weather...

Looks like this rabbit is taking time to smell the chives!

I love to harvest my chives by chopping and freezing...then we
can enjoy them year around!

♦♦♦

Do you love lilacs?

I sure do....so sad that their spring visit is so short!

♦♦♦

I'm hoping to get these flowers planted in my
urns....

Plus, I need to go flower shopping for some of my
other favorites!

♦♦♦

While on a Sunday drive yesterday, look at the
powerful picture my son, Sam, took.

This is just picture~perfect....I love, love, love this!

"I do set my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token
of a covenant between me and the earth."

This one's also spectacular...
