"Sisters of the Faith" Pinkeep Drum...

Welcome dear needlefolk friends!

My intentions were to post on Monday,
but that didn't happen, now it Wednesday!

Introducing the finished model for kit number two of
"Prairie Sisters Handworke Club"...

"Sisters of the Faith" Pinkeep Drum

This project is designed to reflect the symbolism
reminiscent of the 19th century!

In the center of the drum is a "Peacock"...
The "eyes" in the peacock's tail feathers symbolize the all~seeing God.
Also, a symbol of immortality, and associated with
Paradise and the Tree of Life.

Nestled above the peacock is a "Heart"...
~ Hearts are a symbol of Charity

moving to the right of the peacock...
...this sister is holding out a crown
~ Crowns are a symbol of Hope

This sister's initials "NK" are in tribute to my stitching friend,
Nataly Koplovsky from Massachusetts
who won the quarterly club initials drawing.

to the left of the peacock...
This sister is wearing a crown and holding out a key
~ keys are a symbol of Faith

This sister's initials "TB" are mine.
Pattern will include charted alphabet so you can
personalize your drum with your own set of initials.

between this sister and the peacock...
...is a little "peachick" following behind its papa!

~ Peacock Trivia ~

~ peacocks are from the peafowl family
~ males are called peacocks
~ females are called peahens
~ babies are called peachicks

glance of the back seam...
A tall tulip borders each side of the back seam.

top view...
Please note that this finished model was completely antiqued
with walnut stain, the Civil War Reproduction fabric on
both the top and bottom of the drum,  and to the
 sampler as well...packed with sawdust.

Now for the winner of the quarterly club
gift giveaway drawing...
The base of this sweet little antique Art Nouveau pinkeep
is made of gold gilted pot metal with a floral relief design.

Still has the original covering which is worn and faded from age,
and is packed with traditional sawdust.

Congratulations Laura...hope you enjoy!

Sharing with you are some early morning
photos of our front yard...
Such a pretty time of year...love the smell of fresh cut grass!

This is our "Linden Tree"...
In July it produces beautiful creamy yellow flowers
that are so fragrant our whole farm smells lovely!

This is the view to the east of the farmhouse...
of our eastern farm field!

Love the misty look during the early morning hours!
On the lower left of this photo is just a little corner of
the roof of my Studio!

Soul Food...

And this I pray, that your love may
abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

That ye may approve things that are excellent;
that you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

Philippians 1:9~10...kjv

As we walk through life learning and growing by each
passing year we develop a discernment...

~Knowledge is wisdom that comes from acquiring truth
~Insight is wisdom that comes from living out the truth we acquire
~ Discernment is wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit's reminders
of that knowledge and insight

Wishing you a stitch filled day!
Kindly, Tammy
