Sooner Begun...Sooner Done

Welcome dear needlefolk friends ~

What a wonderful week of rejoicing...now
fully recovered from my scary wasp ordeal!!

Tuesday, I finally "Beegan" stitching
on my soon to be released Bee Sampler...
Stitching the wonderful traditional
alphabet in this samplar was so relaxing!

Right now I'm working on the border,
saving the center motifs for last...

Sooner Begun...Sooner Done

Sewing is the best medicine for me...
My soul yearns for my daily dose!

I'll be working my needle with
great passion to bring to you this soon
to be released Bee Samplar!

Love old Beekeeping photos...
Delight yourself in simple things,
and your heart and soul will be overflowing!

~:::~

These little gofers look so cute and innocent...

Cute maybe...but innocent hardly!
They are very busy digging tunnels every where!

Do you have little critters like this in your yard?

~:::~

Discovered a fallen nest this morning...
Taking a closer look at any fallen nest is so fun,
to see if I can find any of my thread clippings that
I scatter around the yard for them!

Hooray, this one has several woven into
the center of the nest!

I love how this little bird chose such
an interesting choice of fibers...
Lots of seedy little sprigs!

~:::~

We had a line up of endless
Barn Swallows on our power lines...
They just kept coming and coming!

All this busy activity lasted for about 3~4 days...
In the seventeen years we've lived here,
we've never witnessed anything like this!

~:::~

Look how loaded the Chestnut trees are this year...

I'm sure the squirrels are patiently
waiting for harvest time!

Have you ever seen a Chestnut up close?

They have a very thick prickly outer skin that
continues to dry.

When they are ripe they fall to the ground and
the dried outer skin cracks open to reveal
the chestnut hidden inside.

Weekend Soul Food...

Hoping you will find time to relax
into your stitching chair this
weekend!

Monday, Monday...

~ Welcome dear needlefolk friends ~

Hope you're all staying cool from this hot,
humid summer heat...personally I'm
really looking forward to Autumn!

All of last week seemed to be a complete
disaster...just want to put it behind
me and move forward!

Sadly, the Bee Samplar is still waiting to
get started...hoping this week will
be full of progress!

The weekend did not go well either,
full of setbacks with my recovery
from the double Wasp stings!
Still experiencing major swelling,
redness, fever, and itching!!

Why did those nasty Wasps have to attack my
right arm...I'm right handed!

Plus, the high dose of Benadryl causes tiredness
 and blurred vision...I literally can't stitch!

The good news is, today I'm done taking
all the meds...HIP HIP YAY!

~:::::~

It's been so hot and humid here
in Wisconsin...YUK!

My son Sam took this awesome pic for me...

Early morning rabbit running
near our pond here on the farm!

Did you know rabbits are actually
capable of swimming..

Yes, it's true Rabbits ARE capable of swimming
and they've adapted to water.

They have webbing on their paws,
fat to keep them buoyant,
and the natural instinct to paddle.

Marsh rabbits swim to escape predators
in the wild all the time!

~:::::~

After being cooped up all week,
I was happy to get outside and see what
I've been missing...
Oh boy, the Tiger Lilies are in full bloom!

Yay, something to SMILE about!
The thought of polka dots on a flower has
long amazed me!

I best be extra careful right now about
 getting close to flowers, especially
if there are busy bees/wasps working the area...
I doubt whether I would handle getting
stung a third time!

Weekly Soul Food...

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness or his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of
the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou
art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
 all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house
of the Lord for ever.

Psalm 23:1~6...KJV

Best wishes for a wonderful week ahead,
Kindly, Tammy

Life is so short and it's so important to enjoy
the time the Lord has granted us...

Do you do what YOU love ~ and love what YOU do?

Do you love to work willingly with your hands?

Do you have your own special space where you
are surrounded with wonderful sewing needfuls?

Perhaps you have an old iron that was your
 grandmothers...those little pieces of our past can
bring such peacefulness to our little
sewing corners!

~ My soul is fed by needle & thread ~

~::~::~::~

Thursday was spent in the emergency room at
Mayo clinic...I was stung twice on the
same arm by a WASP!!

I've always had a very bad allergic reaction to
insect bites.

While living in Texas years ago,
 I had two very close calls from
 "Red Fire Ants" and a "Scorpion" bite...
both were nearly fatal for me!

I'm looking forward to all the
quality stitching time during my
recovery!

~::~::~::~

Weekend Soul Food...

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from Thy presence;
and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation;
and uphold me with Thy free spirit.  ~Amen~

Psalm 51:10~12...KJV

~::~::~::~

This has long been by favorite passage ~
so soothing to the soul!

Many wishes for a peaceful and relaxing weekend!
Your friend, Tammy

Visiting the Animals ~

Welcome dear needlefolk friends ~
when was the last time YOU went to the Fair?

No matter how old I get...I still enjoy
going to the Fair just to visit all the animals!

Sharing with you today are the animals
I visited with at yesterday's Fair...
Just look at this sweet little face...she was my
Blue Ribbon Winner for sure!

She was so very friendly from
the moment I saw her...
When I walked up she was laying down,
but quickly jumped to her feet to come over
and say hello to me!

I love Nubian Goats with their
roman noises and long ears...
They have such natural happy looking faces!

Check out these next two goats...
Perfect timing...looks like the brown one is
showing off his horns!

Another favorite is this sleeping Angora Goat...
Just by looking at her you can almost feel
 the softness of her curly locks!

Yesterday was a pretty hot day
and the animals were all well taken care of
with plenty of bedding and cool water...
Love the curly~q tail!

This fellow just finished rooting around in the sawdust...
Lots of flies...must be how they scratch themselves!

Caught this horse just starting to nod off...
Love how her chin is resting on the metal gate!

This gal is completely enjoying a little nap...
Lucky girl...she even has her own personal fan!

Moving on to the "Spotted Hares"...
So cute!

Each hare is spotted so differently...
No two are alike!

This one looks just like a chocolate Easter bunny...
Very sweet!

Even the ducks are resting...
Must have had a good day swimming!

You won't catch any animals sleeping in this barn...
Not with these blue ribbon rooster's competing
with each other, this one is "First Premium"...look at
the scowl on his face!

But, this one is also First Premium...
This fellow looks exhausted!

Believe me, they were equally loud...I can see why
both of them won the Rooster Crowing competition!

These fellows will have to keep practicing...
Better luck next year!

Whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.

I'm happy to say most of my weekend was spent

Lydia Barnes Pidgeon 1827...lots
of progress was made!

Wishing you all a wonderful week filled
