Hot Off The Press....

Welcome dear needlefolk friends!

Today was a super busy day,
finally back from my local print shop,
and now I can officially say my
 new pattern is available...

Catherine.Sheppard.1810.
Antique Reproduction Sampler

The model is stitched on
36ct. Lakeside Linen  "Pecan Butter."

The chosen thread was DMC,
which had the best color matches to
the original 207 year old sampler!

If stitched on 36ct linen this sweet sampler
will fit an 8 by 10 frame.

I love the graceful winding border with
 its lovely flowers and leaves!

And...the sweet little bird and black doggy!

After the sampler was stitched,
I antiqued it using walnut crystal stain,
giving it a nice soft look.

This pattern is now available in my Etsy Shoppe,
just click onto any of the photos

Sharing with you now are some country
scenes from the local roads I traveled this week...

Love visiting our sister state of Minnesota...lots
of lakes, birds, hills and valleys!

The mighty Mississippi's waters are no longer
frozen making it possible once again for
the big barges to pass through!

Love these red heads...I wonder if they are an
Irish/Scottish bread?

Patiently waiting for fresh green pastures!

This friendly gal was not at all
shy about posing!

Then she went on about her business!

Weekend Soul Food...

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psalms 23:1~3...KJV

Where will YOUR path lead YOU
this weekend?

Kindly, Tammy

Soul Food...

To every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak...

Wishing you a day filled

Home Sweet Home!

Welcome dear needlefolk friends!

It's always fun and exciting to break away from
my daily routine, I start out filled with such
expectation, but the true joy is in coming back
home and sleeping in my own bed!

While relaxing in my motel room I enjoyed
some stitching time, here is my vacation progress...

Started adding some fruit and finished the
tips of the buds, and added a small flower pot.

I had hopes of being further along,
but something is better than nothing!

I left home on Saturday morning
headed for Milwaukee, interstate driving
is so boring so I decided to take a break and
stretch my legs in Sun Prairie, Wisconisn...

Picked out some wonderful Civil War
fabrics for future club kits!

Spent my first night in Brookfield.

My main objective for visiting Milwaukee,
was to visit my childhood parochial
 school and church...

Historic
St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church & School
6802 West Forest Home Avenue
Milwaukee, Wisconsin

As a little girl I loved hearing the church
bells ring from the big bell tower!

Inside, it was just as beautiful as I
remember it so many many years ago!

And, it just happened to be communion Sunday!

☙♥❧

After church I drove to the
Grand Avenue Mall, parking on the
street was frustrating with confusing
parking signs, but look who came
to my rescue...

Wow, a Milwaukee mounted police officer...how
cool is that!

He very kindly explained that I had two
hours of free parking on Sunday, and
his horse was so friendly!

After all that, the mall was a complete
 disappointment...most of the
shops were vacant!!

So sad, at one time this was an
awesome mall!

Plus, my old neighborhood was another big
disappointment...completely run down!

While aimlessly wandering around I
passed so many massive beautiful
old churches.

Wow, what lovely architecture!

☙♥❧

At this point I was feeling very disenchanted
and like a fish out of water...completely
out of my comfort zone!

However, I finally found the closure
I was seeking from my childhood in Milwaukee...it
was time for me to head back towards
Madison were things are more
familiar to me!

Decided to take a more scenic route in
hopes of seeing wonderful old barns like this one!

Check out this Public Library!
Lake Mills, Wisconsin

Also in this small town was yet
another beautiful old church!

☙♥❧

Spent my second night in Mt. Horeb,
so I could visit a cross stitch shop...

Hard to see the sign on the window ~
"Witchery Stitchery" Needlework Shop

I was so surprised to see one of my patterns
displayed in the front window!

Back on the road and headed for
Middleton on the west side of Madison...

Look at this neat and tidy old barn!

First stop was West Town Mall,
and then onto another cross stitch shop...

Another pleasant surprise...

Another one of my patterns on display
right beside "With Thy Needle and Thread"
and "Plum Street Samplers"...what an honor!

Spent my third night in
Waunakee, Wisconsin with
plans to visit a quilt shop...

"Mill House Quilts"
Waunakee, Wisconsin

What a gorgeous old door!

Back on the road,
now headed for Spring Green...

Love taking the back roads...wish I knew the
story behind these old ruins!

I wonder what this building was?

Looks like something you would see
in another country!

I need to have my husband make me
a quilt motif sign for my Studio...love these kind of motifs!

Ahh, look where I stopped next...

Yep, lucky me...I never leave here empty handed!

Count Your Blessings...

Welcome dear needlefolk friends, and
happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

~🍀🍀🍀~

This is what I do,
when I have a hard time
 falling to sleep...

And it works every time to help shut
my busy mind down!

Some of you may remember a St. Patrick's
sampler I released a few years ago...

"Milly & Molly O'Mally"

But, wait until you see how
Tiffany Joy Burns finished hers...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her creative touch!

She filled the top with batting and the
lower third was filled with plastic beads to
help it stand up nicely!

You could also use ground walnut shell,
sand, rice, beans, popcorn seeds etc.

Thank you so much Tiffany for sharing your
lovely stitching and finishing!

This pattern is available in my Etsy Shop,
but I'll be away for a few days...a short delay
in shipping...sorry for the inconvenience!

~🍀🍀🍀~

Beings it's St. Patrick's Day,
let me tell you I know first hand
the qualities of a true
Irishman...I'm married to one!

My Irishman is actually a descendant of a very rowdy
Irish clan (the "Black" clan) that was thrown out of Ireland
many years ago because of political views!

To this day his family has
remained very political, during
my husband's college days he
campaigned for his father
William Black Sr. who was sheriff of
La Crosse County for 10 years, and
a police officer for 24 years prior
to that.

Plus, my husband's cousin
Carl Halverson, also served as sheriff
of La Crosse County for 12 years.

What I love best about my Irishman
is his kind and gentle natural, and
I must mention he truly has
the Irish gift of gab!

~🍀🍀🍀~

Check out these amazing
red haired maidens...

Hope you enjoyed this St. Patrick's Day!

Catherine. Sheppard. 1810.
Update...

This is my latest progress on Catherine,
I've been preoccupied with so many
different things this week...not
enough stitching time!

~🍀🍀🍀~

This is the time of year when the
countryside looks so dreary...

For local readers, if these pics look
familiar...they were taken at the Bangor Park.

Love the sound of a babbling brook!

Love this spot, will have to come back
when the weather warms up...great place to
sit and stitch!

So, so dreary!

~🍀🍀🍀~

Guess what?
I'm planning on running away from home...

Seriously, bags are all packed,
and I'm leaving tomorrow morning!

I'm off to Milwaukee, all by myself
while my guys stay home to hold down the fort!

It's my birthday present to myself,
beings they got to go to California and Texas
this past year while I stayed home to
take care of our sick dog Winston!

So if you see this "Soul" in traffic...please HONK!!

I'm taking my laptop with me so I can
still stay in touch!

~🍀🍀🍀~

Farm Shop Will Be
"CLOSED" on Saturday!

Will re~open next Saturday, on March 25th.

~🍀🍀🍀~

Weekend Soul Food...

The words of a man's mouth
are as deep waters,
and the wellspring of wisdom
as a flowing brook.

Proverbs 18:4...KJV

Blessings from me to you,
Tammy
