Hello, hello, hello friends...it's SO good to be back!
This entire month of December has been more than
overwhelming for me, I've never felt so disconnected and
ready to get back into my normal routine!
My husband Bill, son Sam, and I have all been sick
with the worst colds we can ever remember,
Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
were absolutely miserable!!
That being said,
it really feels great to be back in my Studio
today...yay!!!
Little Sparrow Pinkeep Update...
I need to thank all you Little Sparrow members
for your patience with me this month...thank you SO much!
The model is finally finished and ready to share...
~ front side ~
"A Stitch in Time" pinkeep
©2015 Scattered Seed Samplers
Pattern will include a charted alphabet for you to
personalize your little heirloom.
And now for the backside...
2015 marks the first year for the
Little Sparrow Pinkeep Club.
Embellished with satin ribbon...
Early traditional pinkeeps were often embellished with
satin ribbon, which I love!
This is a lovely way to conceal the seam while
adding character to the finished pinkeep.
The model is stitched on 32ct Belfast Summer Khaki
and then coffee stained after the stitching was complete.
Firmly packed with sawdust,
and a finished size of approximately 3.5~4" inches.
This is the fourth and last kit for 2015.
A rejoining form for 2016 will be included with the kit
for early sign up to reserve your membership.
The scheduled ship date is Thursday, December 31st,
which lands on New Years Eve...my apologies!!!

Every year my husband and son asked me;
'what do you want for Christmas?'
This year I asked for the complete series of...
Yay, what a great to help me get through my dreaded cold
symptoms that started with a sore throat then onto sneezing/coughing/itchy eyes/sinus, the worst
being an endless dripping noise...used a whole box of Kleenex!
So glad that's ALL behind me now!
I just need to find series five, our local stores were
all sold out!
Our local PBS channel will be broadcasting the final
sixth series starting this Sunday, January 3rd...I can hardly
wait!
♦
My Christmas was made extra special by so many
"Merry Christmas" wishes sent through
emails, Facebook and to my surprise the mailbox...
I was so very touched to receive Christmas cards
from Olga, LaNelle, and David...thank you for your kindness!
♦
Also, gifted to me by the talented artist
David Schump from The Art Tramp...
A Noah's Ark on wheels with a clip on Dove ornament!
David's work is all original, one of a kind, hand made in
the traditional Tramp Art style from years gone by!
The Ark is also a special storage box!
Here is the link to David's Web Site...

We're expecting 6~12" inches of snow today...it's
like a blizzard outside my Studio window....
Feeding our little feathered friends is so important
during these harsh winter months!
It's worth all the layering to watch them share
the scattered seed I sow for them!

Weekly Soul Food...
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven,
and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth,
and maketh it bring forth and bud,
that it may give seed to the sower,
and bread to the eater.
Isaiah 55:10...KJV

Sorry you and your family was sick over the holidays. 2016 for me is living each day to the fullest and not taking anything for granted.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you and family were fighting the dreaded Upper Respiratory bug. Nasty stuff. I had similar last year and the cough lasted 6 weeks!
ReplyDeleteIN 2016 I am looking forward to finishing a couple large stitch pieces that I have been working on, enjoying the grand kids(ages range from 3 weeks to 13 years old) and walking outside again once winter is over!
Wonderful gifts. Hope you are all feeling much better. Happy New Year....
ReplyDeleteSickness everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are feeling better. My son came down with that and he was so sick. Your pinkeep is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI hope your snow is just lovely and you have lots of time to stitch. I do love my planner.
I do love your designs.
I'm happy to hear you are feeling better. No fun being sick, especially during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI received my give-away win today. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! (Of course, do not enter me in this one.)
Here in northern Ohio, we are feeling the coldest weather of the year. It's in the 30's with rain. If it were a bit colder, we'd be buried in snow. Very unusual weather but no complaints from me.
Happy New Year.
Hugs :)
Lauren
I'm looking forward to some snow in my neck of the woods. Not one flake here yet. Was over 60 degrees on Christmas. Please put my name in the hat for your sweet book of days. Glad you are well.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. We have been drenched in rain -weird weather. I am looking forward to (and afraid) of starting nursing school. Would love a calendar to keep track of assignments!
ReplyDeleteNice to read you and your family are on the mend. It's no fun being sick during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to finishing some big stitching projects that were started this year, to taking control of my health and getting all the important checkups including that dreaded colonoscopy, my trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and getting back to a simpler kind of life of which this calendar would fit in nicely! Thanks Tammy, Happy New Year to you and yours.

ReplyDeleteThanks as always for the joy of your beautiful blog! I am so looking forward to this sparrow - each time I think I have a favourite, I have a new one!
ReplyDeleteFor me, 2016 is about looking for/finding/keeping the joy in each day, or as Dear Ebenezer would say, 'honor(ing)Christmas in my heart and try(ing) to keep it all the year'.
Continue to mend!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to a new year of being the best person I can be. I continue to strive to be kind, compassionate and caring. I also strive to find the joy in each day and in each task I undertake. I take great joy on the handwork that I am blessed to do. Thank you for all your offerings.

ReplyDeleteHi Tammy. You were lucky if your cold is already past, I had one that turned into bronchitis that stuck around for about 2 months. I am hoping for a healthy and creative 2016. I would like to try my hand at punch needle this year and maybe do some more wool applique too. I try to get at least an hour of stitching every evening. I REALLY need to get myself organized, both time and supplies. My secret goal is to actually get a work area set up so that I know where everything is. I feel like I spend half my time looking for what I need. Please enter my name for the calendar. I need to keep better track of my stitching and this should help. Thanks. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWe are sharing in the dreaded sickness, and glad to know you all are on the mend. The past year has been a difficult one, and has taught us to simply be thankful for each day, each moment. We look towards the New Year with gratitude and hope in our hearts. We look forward to a New Year, a chance to renew our spirits, new opportunities, and thankfulness for blessings yet to come~
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely calendar! Thank you for the generous giveaway. I am looking forward to watching my little grandchildren grow and grow and grow! They learn something new everyday!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to continued health for my family. It is good to hear you and your family are feeling better and will enjoy a Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that you have been ill. I'm also a huge Downton Abbey fan. I have all 6 series of it. Just have to get the Christmas edition.
ReplyDeleteMy mother was such a bird lover - one of her last thoughts before she joined my father in Heaven (both my earthly one and my Heavenly one!) was to remind us to refill the bird feeders. Every time I see a bird outside my window I think of her. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteI love the new pinkeep. Didn't enter the club last year but might have to for the New Year. They have been wonderful. I look forward to a New Year with lots of stitching (really going to try to stitch a little everyday) and lots of outdoor exercise. Coming to Central Wisconsin this weekend with plans to snowshoe in all the new snow!!! Kathy
