Welcome and happy Friday
needlefolk fiends!
My apologizes for the long absence,
too many things going on in my little corner
of the world!
"Birds of a Feather" Handworke Club Update ~
Finally, a nice quiet moment to share what my
needle and thread stitched together for the
second club project...
"Together Forever" Pinkeep Drum
Did you know that Swans mate for life,
and it is said, that when one mate dies the other
dies shortly after from loneliness!
Let's take a clockwise look around the drum...
To the right of the meandering floral motif is the lady swan,
adorned with a flowing ribbon, followed by a large key,
and initials.
Pattern includes a complete alphabet so you can
personalize the pinkeep drum.
Next, is the backside...
The back seam comes together and creates
a cluster of three hearts!
Next in the circle...
A second floral motif that compliments the
main floral motif on the front.
We are now back to the front...
To the left of the meandering floral motif
is the male swan.

lets take a closer look
at the supplies...
"Together Forever" pinkeep drum is stitched on
32ct Country French "Golden Needle linen.
While on a recent road trip,
I purchased this lovely fabric at the
Country Sampler Shop
Spring Green, Wisconsin...a wonderful shop!
A glimpse of the thread palette.
While antiquing a few years ago,
I founds a large lot of these rare
vintage Bakelite O~Rings!
I'm so happy to share these
exclusive vintage rings as a club embellishment!

As I said in your PSS post, I am so excited for this. I’ve always wanted to tackle a pinkeep drum, and can’t think of one more beautiful to start. I’m a slow stitcher, so am so happy to have finished. The needle roll already!!! Your photos and collections are amazing too by the way... ~Robin~
