Studio Sneak Peek...

Welcome dear needlefolk friends!

Hope everyone's staying cool during this
summer heat wave!

Sharing with you today is a little sneak peek of the progress
being made on the re~organization of my Studio...
So many of my favorite things have been packed away,
these antique velvet carrots and cotton spun rabbit brought
such joy to my heart while arranging them into
this basket!

Every pile of clutter is being completely removed,
especially from all my work benches and cutting table...

Every drawer is being completely dumped out,
and only keeping what I really need!

It really helped to have our large
Country Antique Barn Sale,
got rid of lots of stuff no longer needed!

Hauled lots of throw away stuff to
our local dump...keeping only my sewing collectables!

It's been so much fun
working late nights on this make over,
air conditioner and music
cranked up...completely exhausted!

Everything is becoming SO organized...I have to
pinch myself to believe it!

Re~arranging large cabinets to create more open
wall space to hang my ever growing sampler models!

Deciding which cabinets to keep and which ones to part
with...not ready to part with this lovely old display cabinet yet!

My largest endeavor is organizing my
shipping area...starting to see light at the end of the tunnel!

My Grandmother's antique embroidery hoops...love them!

This area is by the Studio entrance,
organized antique thread cabinets onto an
old farm cart on wheels...

Surly I'm not the only one who's work space can get
turned upside down...my only regret is that I
never took any before pics!  😥

I still have quite a few things to sort through and organize,
but hope to be pretty much finished by the end of July...
then I'll share some wide range pics,
or maybe I'll try to do a video walk through!
😀

Let me introduce you to some little farm
critters that say good night to me
as I lock up the Studio...
This little fellow was perched onto the screen door,
so translucent...you can see right through its
tiny body!

This fellow is a regular nightly visitor...
Loves to perch on a birdhouse that is located under the
nightlight...catching a belly full of bugs!

This dude just loves hanging on the building...
Coming or going, but always looking for free bugs!

Check out these unusual moths...
They are early risers...greeting me in the morning as I open
up the Studio!

Look what was hanging outside my kitchen window...
This isn't the best picture, but I barely got my camera
in time to capture this Red Headed Wood Pecker!

"Dog Days of Summer"...

Welcome dear needlefolk friends,
and Happy Fourth of July!

How's your summer going?

Mine has been busy, busy, busy!
This past weekend we had a large "Country Antique Sale"
here on our farm, it's been at least fifteen years
since my last one...long overdue!

Purging equals freedom & peace!

The next big undertaking is to completely rearrange
my Studio back to a private work space, which
means the Studio will no longer be open
on Saturday's.

This is a much needed task,
so I can put All my time and creative energy into
designing while working in a peaceful,
organized space, surrounded by
things dear to me!

I'm hoping to have the Studio reorganized by the
end of July...will share photos as things fall into place!

🗝🗝🗝

Today I have something special to share with you...
"Anna Morgan 1845" Antique Reproduction Sampler
©2019 Scattered Seed Samplers

Model is stitched on 32ct WDW Parchment linen.
With all the thread lines available, "DMC" had the
best match to Anna's original colours!

Best of all,
my antique frame stash had just
 the perfect size frame!
This was a truly delightful sampler to
reproduce from start to finish!

~ Provenance~
The original 174 year old sampler was stitched by Anna Morgan,
she chose to only stitch her initials "AM" on her sampler,
but on the back edge she signed her name in cursive
"Anna Morgan."

The origin of this sampler is the United Kingdom.

Perhaps on the hot, sultry "dog days of summer",
Anna enjoyed playing with her sweet little dogs
 and teaching them special tricks!

"Birds of a Feather" Handworke Club Update...

Guess what?
I forgot to post the winner of the quarterly club
 "Antique Gift Giveaway" drawing...

Selected from my personal collection is this
antique pair of scissors with a porcelain scissor stand.

The center comes together and forms the
shape of a cross!

The winner for the club drawing is...

Donna Hensley
Knoxville, Tennessee

Congratulations Donna, your gift is on the way!

Sharing next are a few wild friends that
have visited us here on our farm this summer...
My husband was out mowing one of our farm fields,
and luckily saw this little fawn that was taking
shelter, just in the nick of time...that was
really a close call!
🦌🦌🦌

Down by our pond...

this momma turtle is looking for just the
right spot to lay her eggs!

Hope she finds a nice cool spot!
🐢🐢🐢

While on a family drive in Amish country,
we came upon this roadside fellow...
It appeared that he was being disciplined, and separated from his friends...
(way in the distance you can see them on the top edge of the photo.)

He was very distraught, and had been pawing at
the dirt for quite some time...hope things worked out okay!
🐴🐴🐴

Well hello there...
These little fellows love hanging out under the
porch light of my Studio!

our freedoms and thank God for them!
