"Heart of Wisdom" Sampler ~

Welcome dear needlefolk friends!

I've been trying ALL week to get my
new sampler released BUT real life pulled
me in different directions...more on that later!

So, now the moment I've anxiously been waiting to
share with you, hot off the press just this afternoon...

"Heart of Wisdom" Sampler
©2017 Scattered Seed Samplers

The verse was written by me,
as my mind loves to ponder my two
favorite books of the bible...Psalms & Proverbs!

Model is stitched on
36ct. Lakeside Vintage Buttercream linen.

Stitched with only two skeins of overdyed thread,
blue is by Weeks Dye Works and gold is by Gentle Art.

Pattern also includes charted alphabet & numbers
so you can personalize it with your initials and
special year of choice...1961 is my birth year!

Pattern is now available through my Etsy Shop,

Fourth of July weekend was spent visiting my
husbands childhood "Boat House" on the "Black Slough,"
off of the Mississippi River by Stoddard, Wisc.

Growing up my husband was truly a river rat,
fishing, trapping, clamming, duck hunting with his
dad and younger brother!

These old birdhouse are still mounted up high
in the trees along the bank of the old family "Boat House"

Nestled nicely into the old trees offering
a little paradise for the birds.

Weathered to perfection after all these years!

Plus,
these lucky birds get to eat wild berries
to their hearts content!

The sound of "Bullfrogs" is so intense...

If you look closely at the murky marsh waters you
will see many "eyes" lurking in the marsh weed!

I was so fascinated with how relaxed their
bodies were...just dangling beneath the water!

Our nephew Steven keeps a big fish net in
the boat house and offered to net a bullfrog for me!

I was so excited to see one close up!

This was a great opportunity to try out the
camera on my new I~phone!

My river rat husband offered to hold
this fellow while he posed for me!

These bullfrogs are really slippery & slimy...you
have to hold them tightly!

What a great face and great complexion too!

Hi, my name is "Jeremiah the Bullfrog!"

Love those webbed feet!

Thank you so much Jeremiah...it was such
a pleasure meeting you!

On Wednesday,
my husband had retinal eye surgery (vitrectomy)
at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

The surgery took place at St. Mary's (part of Mayo.)

We were up at 3:00am,
left the farm at 4:30am,
 for a 6:00am check in!

My heart was breaking for my husband...he was
   so full of anxiety!

I must say, the lobby was beautiful!

Massive ferns adorned the hallways!

Getting off the elevator...you were
greeted with lovely statues!

Love this beautiful stained glass window
depicting St. Joseph...my husband was on the
Joseph wing of the hospital!

The next couple of weeks will require
lots of rest...we are looking forward to the
follow up visit with the surgeon next
Wednesday for an update on the
progress of recovery!
