~ New Pattern....Country Cottontails ~

Welcome dear friends to the start of a
wintery weekend!

After being so weak, I'm gaining my strength back...Yeah!!

~ Studio News ~

I'm excited to share my newest pattern release....

~ Country Cottontails ©2015 Scattered Seed Samplers
Original Folk Art Design by Tammy Black ~

This nice size pillow has a stitch count of 135W by 81H.
My model was stitched on 32ct R&R linen ~ Ligonier Latte
All DMC Cotton Thread used

After the stitching was all complete, I then coffee stained the sampler
and the homespun fabric backing.  I'll share the steps I used in
completing this pillow.

First I prepared my homespun fabric backing, which by itself will not
change much by coffee staining.

Too ruff the new fabric up I used sandpaper on it, this will remove the new
looking sheen from it and allows it to absorb the coffee stain....

This photo shows the fabric before and after it's been sanded.
The sanded fabric now looks old and worn.

Next, I counted out 50 thread from the design area on all
four sides and pulled the 51st thread out completely
on all four sides....

This gives me a quick and accurate stitching guide line while
sewing the pillow together on my sewing machine.

This photo shows the stitching all completed, leaving a small
opening for turning at the bottom.   Stitching right above
that pulled guideline.

Almost ready to turn inside out, but first.....

I trim down the seams with pinking shears.  This gives a nice
finish to the linen edges and helps from fraying.

Everything is now in place and ready to turn.

For small pillows this is one of my all time favorites....

~ Morning Glory Cluster Stuff ~

This is one of those GREAT products.
I always carried it in my retail needlework shop.

I'll be ordering a new case of this hopefully next week,
so I can offer it in my Etsy Shoppe.

It even comes in a nice zippered bag!

Country Cottontails is now available in my Etsy Shoppe.

  2. The Morning Glory Cluster Stuff Is my favorite poly-fiberfil, too. I prefer to stuff pincushions with carded wool but for bigger pieces this stuff is great. Love that little print on the back of your pillow.
