with the good news first...

My mother's old rocking chair nestled into

Remember when I said this was a bittersweet
week here on the farm?

Sadly,
 our dear loyal friend, and
 "king of the farmhouse"
passed away...

The past two years, old age took
a toll on our little Scottie Winston,
no longer able to walk, we all tended
to his every need...including carrying
his weak little body outside to lay out under
the big tree in our back yard...one of his
favorite pass times!

Our little country boy was especially
fond of my husband...they were best buddies
to the very end!

Monday was a very sad and emotional
day for all of us and our nephew Daniel who was
also fond of Winston.

Samuel and Daniel did the honor of
carrying the burial box as we all
marched up to our special pet cemetery that
overlooks our pond!

All of our dearly departed pets are
laid to rest here...gone but NEVER FORGOTTEN!

  3. We have lived in our house over 40 years and have quite a "Boot Hill" going in my garden. All my furry babies are there and now it is time that we leave and move on and the thought of leaving my angels is hard. Hugs to you as I too feel your pain.

  7. So very sorry for the loss of Winston. It's the worst part of pet ownership and tears our hearts. I have a very old chocolate Labrador who is nearly 16 and know I must face this soon.

  16. Tammy my heart breaks at the news of your beloved Winston. It is so very hard. Mine are both fourteen years now and Smokey is diabetic. I fear the time is getting close. Sending big hugs for comfort for you and your family.
