Itching to Stitch!

Welcome dear needlefolk friends ✋✋✋

Last week I was working on a new spring
design, and this week I completely dropped
everything because a sweet little antique
 sampler kept calling my name!

So, I decided to take a little detour
and now I'm working on reproducing this
sweet sampler...

The original sampler was stitched in 1810...that's 207
years ago!

The design is all charted and I started
stitching Thursday night.

Working on the border right now.

The model is being stitched on
36ct Lakeside Linen ~ Pecan Butter.

Planning to have this pattern available
by the end of March.

Feathered friends are back...

Our first Robin sighting...yay!

✋✋✋

Love country friends...

While out driving, I couldn't resist stopping
to say hi to this country gal!

She also said hi....hee haw, hee haw, hee haw!

Then she turned and completely ignored me!

✋✋✋

This past week my neighborhood endured
some mighty wild and crazy weather!

The storm hit Monday night, and we were
without power from 9:00pm ~ 4:00am.

If fact, a tornado rated as an EF~1
touched down just missing our farm,
but sadly many of our neighbors
were hit pretty hard...

The morning after my husband and son went
out to survey the damage all around us,
but no damage at all to our house and buildings!

Our neighbors living on the fence line of our
property had lots and lots of damage,
downed trees, broken fences...

Destruction everywhere!

This is whats left of our neighbors shed...reduced
to a pile of ruble!

Another neighbor lost their whole barn!

The roof was completely ripped off of this
neighbors house!

Another barn destroyed also
damaging the silo!

So happy the cows are safe and sound,
and the storm has passed!

  1. Tammy, thanks for this post. We never know what the power of nature will do to us or around us. So glad your farm was spared and I just have a feeling you are a true neighbor and will help wherever the need presents itself. I love the quote about the willow tree! LOVE IT! I started a sampler guild in September, 7 months after my beloved went home to be with the Lord. The members chose the name...Willow Tree Sampler Guild. Here is another reason to love it! Thank you for sharing! XO, Willa

Glad your family and farm are ok from the storm.
It's sad to see so much damage though.

  5. Storm or tornado, but I know some storms can be just as dangerous. We're expecting 4 to 6 inches of snow, I think starting tonight
I hear so many different forecasts. Barb Albrecht should get hit, too.

  6. Greetings Tammy: I am saddened by the damage done by the tornado, lucky for us the tornados in Minnesota were a ways from us but 50 miles away on one.
Love the photos of the donky, so funny.
I am going to have to buy this Sampler it has my name on it.

    Blessings

  7. I am here to tell you about a natural remedy that is
guaranteed to make you wonder why your doctor didn't tell
you about it. Then, on the other hand, it is pretty obvious
why your doctor didn't, because that's not his job, is
it? But, seriously, promise me you won't get too angry
with your health practitioner, it's really not their
fault. They can only practice what they're told to
    practice, right?

foolery, you've got to get down to the cause and nip it
