What a sweet bloganniversary gift. I love reading your blog. I especially enjoy your lovely pictures of the countryside around you. I love the area so much. Boy I love to collect a lot of stuff but my favorite right now is wood boxes. I have lots of plans to use them as finishing for projects when I have time.

If you were to walk into my house the most obvious collection, weakness, and obsession would be my antique quilts. They're hanging on the walls, draped over chairs, stacked on shelves, and folded at the foot of my bed. No clue how many I have but I love them all!
ReplyDeleteLauren S., Minooka, Ill

LOVE the give-a-way!!! My dad was a shoe salesman of women's shoes so this kind of thing has a sentimental appeal to me. My husband and I both love mourning doves and we actually have a pair who live in our garden.....they even nested and had two babies last year! You sweet little friend....well, I grew up with Westies and they are wonderful....I would say they are a big dog trapped in a little dogs body :-). Always love your posts my dear friend!!!!!

ReplyDeleteAnniversaries are special and seem to come around so quickly when we are enjoying what we are doing....hobbies, work and just enjoying the days. I have stitched and enjoyed sewing since I was in 4H club as a child. My grandmothers sewed all my doll clothes and made quilts, and my mother was the one who taught me to sew and stitch with such patience. I enjoy collecting various items from buttons to primitive dolls to hand made pottery items and hand made baskets. I used to participate in numerous arts/craft festivals and met and became friends with several artists that hand made their wares as I did. Wishing you a blessed second anniversary and may we enjoy many more years of your blogs and and collections.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I love Rug Hooking but love primitive cabinets. If I was to ever be able to build a new house I would not have built in cabinets I would use all my primitive cabinets. Friday is my mother's 78th birthday. She still quilts two or three quilts each year, crochets and does counted cross stitch. She doesn't collect anything, but I sure do. I have about a dozen antique samplers from as early as 1768 up to the late nineteenth century. I also collect tools when I can find them at antique shops locally. My latest find was a 1918 Singer Treadle sewing cabinet (five drawers)complete with functioning machine for $65. Just waiting for my husband to replace the belt so I can use it.
