Token of a Covenant...

Welcome dear friends...hope you all
enjoyed a great weekend!

It flew by so quickly...is it really Monday!

My day started out great,
but quickly deteriorated due to really bad
internet connection...talk about frustration!!!

Oh well, this too shall pass!

Look what I found at a rummage sale...
A small vintage artist's wooden paint box...$5.00!

It has a pretty little clasp and handle,
open it up and there's a dainty wooden palette...
Works perfect to store my charted design under,
plus a nice little writing board!

In its new life it will be re~purposed as
a small project work box!

It has such wonderful charm...
Five nice sized compartments to hold
everything I need!

I especially love the long narrow compartment
that holds my rolled linen...
I cleaned it up real well with a damp cloth,
let it dry and sprayed the inside with a
"matte" sealer.

The outside I rubbed down with
"Old English" for dark wood.

I would estimate the age to be from
circa 1910~1920's.

I'll be working on finishing up the model
for Little Sparrow Pinkeep Club this
week...hope to have a finish by
Friday!

While misting my Boston Fern I discovered
the most curious insect...
My guess is a large moth of some sort?

Very content and didn't even mind getting misted!
It hung around for about a day and then vanished!

I'm having fun decorating with old flags...
This week I want to dig out my
"Betsy Ross" flag to hang off the farmhouse porch!

Friday we had a big bad thunder storm
move through our area...
Sam took pictures of how dark and ominous the
sky looked over the farm!

Possible tornado, high winds and hail in the forecast...
All the vehicles were put in our big
machinery shed for safe keeping!

We ended up with only the high winds
and lots of rain...
All day Saturday was beastly hot!

And Sunday we were blessed with a cold front...
I've always loved listening to a good
old fashioned thunder storm!

The best part is getting to see a large double
rainbow stretched over the entire farm...
SO BIG  it wouldn't all fit in one picture...left side!

The massive center arch...

And the right side...
The birds are certainly having a feast after the storm!

Weekly Soul Food...

And God said,
This is the token of the covenant which I
make between me and you and every living
creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a
token of a covenant between me and the earth.

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me
and you and every living creature of all flesh;
and the waters shall no more become a flood to
destroy all flesh.

Genesis 9:12, 13 & 15...KJV

  7. The one thing I really miss about living on a farm - the rain coming down on the metal roof on our farmhouse! To this day, when we're on vacation or just out for a drive, and it starts raining, the sound of the rain hitting the car roof puts me to sleep. :-)
