The Early Workbasket ~ Sewing Baskets

Hello and Welcome dear friends!

Did you realize that today is not only Friday,
but it's also the 1st Friday of the month,
which means it's time for...
Today's topic will be on early sewing baskets!

Some of you may remember my post
from April 29th, which read...

Every so often I've been blessed to be in the
right place at the right time...I like to call it fate!

When my dearest mother passed away back in 2007,
things were complicated having two stepbrothers
and sadly things aren't always handled fairly!

Back in April, after an odd turn of events,
which led my family and I to stop at a small local
antique shop we hadn't visited for years!

Right as you walk into the shop standing in
the foyer was my mother's antique curved glass
china cabinet...Oh, how I gasped!!

I'm sure it's hers because of several very
distinctive marks...that I remember very well!

She would be so happy knowing it made its way
back to me!

I decided not to put it in the farmhouse,
but rather in my Studio!

I finally have it filled and ready to share with you...
After contemplating just what to put in it...I
decided to display my collection of early workbaskets!

The front door is open on this next picture,
making it easier to see in...
Old baskets complimented with a
few of my favorite things!

The top shelf is dedicated in
memory of my loving mother...
She was so young in this old photo,
and looks lovely setting next to one of my
favorite antique marble mourning lambs!

Gone but never forgotten ~
she lives in my heart forever!

I only added a few favorite sewing goodies...
Simply is best...I didn't want it to look cluttered!

Only one wooden box was added...
Surrounded by old workbaskets!

The curved glass sides are like a custom fit
for these old baskets...
Some of the baskets have an old pinkeep
placed on top!

My husband really likes how my
small baskets are gathered together!

Sitting on the very top by the mirror...
A lovely old thread well box embellished
with a pinkeep on top!

And, my favorite yarn swift...
I love the little ivory screw located just
above the wooden base!

How many old baskets do you have?
Maybe you too can have fun gathering yours
together to create your very own special display!

Every day, at least three times a day,
I love to peek in on the baby Studio robins...
They are really starting to fill up the nest!

Weekend Soul Food...

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the
ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth
in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law
doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall
not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the
wind driveth away.

Psalm 1:1~4...KJV

Hope you have a
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
weekend!

~I'll be stitching & gardening~
Kindly, Tammy
