October's End...

Welcome friends to the
Eve of Halloween!

How quickly the seasons change,
before we know it, Thanksgiving Day will
be upon us!

All month I was going to share the front display
window here at the Studio, but never got
around to it!

So today, is the day before I change it to Turkeys...

I've been collecting these folky pottery owls for years!

All these owls are made by the same potter, Dave Huebner, of
Dakota Stoneware Pottery.

Each one is solid clay and quite heavy.
Some have drilled holes in the feet, so they can be
mounted onto a fence post or pole.

Some are tall and thin and others are
short and chunky...no two are ever alike!

Here is David's contact information ~

When making different displays I love to use old
antique alphabet blocks to spell out different
words...the possibilities are endless!

Have fun being creative with your decorating displays.

I'm planning a quiet, relaxing and very productive
weekend at home...

I'll be busy planning ahead with my favorite worn notebook full
of notes, ideas and sketches...so many new ideas for 2016!!

On Monday, I'll be sharing a glimpse of a
new book release...

Just released in October!

Weekend Soul Food ~

While the earth remaineth,
seedtime and harvest,
and cold and heat,
and summer and winter,
and day and night shall not cease.

Genesis 8:22...KVJ

Have a happy Halloween and a wonderful weekend!

See you in November...stay warm!
Kindly, Tammy

  6. I love your owls. Just as my husband and I were leaving yesterday morning for a day trip to the mountains, I saw what I first thought was a big hawk fly over the car. It landed in one of our walnut trees and to my happy surprise, it was a gorgeous HUGE owl. We hear them a lot in our woods, but don't often see them...especially in the daytime. Bet he was hunting for mice in our newly mowed field. What a blessing to live in the country and to be able to enjoy God's creatures. Hope you enjoy Sunday. I'm going to work on some acorn capped velvet pincushions for friends.
