Welcome dear friends...happy Monday!
Hoping you all enjoyed a special and relaxing Mother's Day!
With so much going on I didn't have much time to stitch!
However, I would like to share a little update for the
Schoolgirl Samplar Club...
The first release is being stitched
on Weeks Dye Works 36ct. Straw linen.
The little samplar will be finished
using this sweet antique frame!
To give you a better idea of the size,
the stitch count is 130W by 106H.
All Week Dye Works threads have been chosen.
I'll be sharing another update on Friday!

Stepping outside the farmhouse is like
walking into a bottle of perfume...the smell of
Lilacs is so intense this year!
We have three large bushes on the farm,
each one offering different shades of purple...my
favorite is this dark purple!
The other two bushes offer light to medium shades...
Thy are all in full bloom right now...just gorgeous!
Our biggest bush completely covers the back side of
a round grain building here on the farm...
From this angle you wouldn't even know a
round building existed!
But, from this angle you can get a better view...
So many birds love to nest in this big old Lilac bush!

While running errands on Saturday I got such
a kick out of this truck parked at the grocery store...
What a fun idea to hang a "Cowbell",
Wisconsin is one of the leading Dairy States...that's
why we are called "Cheeseheads"!!
~♥~
Mother's Day was a beautiful day to get a Caribou Coffee
and go for a nice country drive...
Wisconsin now has Amish Buggy yield signs...this is
the first time we ever saw one!
And sure enough, a convoy of Amish buggies...
One after another, we must have past a dozen of them!
They must be heading home after their
Sunday worship gathering...
Some of them will wave, and some will cover their face!
These horses were traveling pretty fast
making it very difficult to get clear photos.
But, our photo man Sam (son) did a great job!
The valleys and hills are such bright shades of green...
Old weathered barn!
We thought this was unique...
Looks like actual car seats were installed!
Check this out ~ literally sinking into the ground...
I wonder how many years it took that old truck
to sink that far down?
Makes you wander just what happened that made
these people abandon everything!
Country drives are so much fun!

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to stitch I go!
I'll be stitching outside...enjoying the fresh
fragrant air!
Blessings, Tammy
I can smell your lilacs! They are one of my favorites along with dogwood blossoms. Cannot wait to see the school girl sampler.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a lilac bush! Gorgeous and I can just imagine the heavenly scent.
ReplyDeleteI hope the Amish don't bring their puppy mills to Wisconsin. They are notorious for them in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Hugs :)
Lauren
Totally enjoyed your post today.
ReplyDeleteYour Lilacs are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all of the great pics with us.
Yes, WI has some beautiful country. :)

Wow! Such beauty both the lilacs and in Sam's photos thanks for taking us along on your Sunday drive it was perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lilacs! You can't grow those here in Houston. Love the smell!
ReplyDeleteLove that sunken truck! Our lilacs have not grown to that degree, but wow! The scent of lilacs is intoxicating, I love to weed neath our lilac bush, it's the aroma that keeps that area weed free.
ReplyDeleteThey are probably covering their faces because the Amish don't want their pictures taken... it is part of their beliefs.
