Welcome dear friends, hope you're enjoying
a great day!
As promised on Friday,
I'm finally ready to share
the first model for the
Schoolgirl Samplar Club...
"Jewel of Wisdom"
©2016 Scattered Seed Samplers
While paging through some of my old
journals, I came upon this sweet
little verse that I had written
years ago and decided to
design this samplar
around these words...
"May the Jewel of Wisdom Crown Thy Heart"
©1992 Tammy Black
Early samplars were full of symbolism,
Jewel of Wisdom includes a key, heart, dogs
and two crowns with crosses on top.
~ Crown is the symbol of Hope
~ Cross is the symbol of Faith
~ Dog is the symbol of watchfulness & loyalty
~ Heart is the symbol of Charity
~ Key is also a symbol of Faith
Borders from the eighteenth century onwards
were used to frame the various motifs.
The companion pinkeep...
A sweet little heart shaped pinkeep to tuck
into your favorite sewing basket!
Kits will include both the fabric and small o~ring...
Easy to make with simple instructions.
Last Friday, right as I was ending my blog the
UPS truck pulled in to deliver my big
box of Weeks Dye Works linen...
I love their cool hand logo!
Looks like I'll be plenty busy this week cutting linen...
Eleven beautiful yards of 36ct. Straw linen for the
Schoolgirl Samplar "Jewel of Wisdom" kits.
The scheduled ship date is May 31st.
Hope you love the first club kit
"Jewel of Wisdom" and companion "Heart" pinkeep!
There is still time to join...

After all the years of faithfully going to Gold Rush,
Saturday, was my best and favorite year ever!
Let me show you why...
Two fabulous antique samplers...now waiting in
line to be reproduced!
I can hardly wait to reproduce this lovely sampler
it is packed full of symbolism, with peacocks,
fruit baskets, Lion, house, and Tulip border.
But, ONE very specific
thing stands out...can you find it?
If you know the answer...let me know!
(Clue, it's something you won't find often)
The second sampler is just as special...
Again, lots of symbolism!
Love the two sheep, plus there are two rabbits
and several birds.
Now, for my next treasure...
I had to do some dickering to get the dealer to
budge on his price!
I have just the perfect spot to put this !
My little thread waxer collection is finally growing...
So hard to find these days...all three came from
my very favorite dealer!
She has endless outstanding, high quality, sewing goodies
that would almost make you start to drool!
It's always a tough decision to decide what to go for!
With a little elboy grease and steel wool,
this will be $2.00 well spent...
I'm hoping my husband can pull out some of
the dents, the rust should be no problem.
These are so handy for pinkeep fillers such as;
sawdust, walnut shell, lavender, rice etc.
The tip of the funnel fits nicely into the opening
of a pinkeep making it easy to pack and fill!

Weekly Soul Food...
Who can find a virtuous woman?
For her price is far above rubies.
Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain:
but a woman that feareth the Lord,
she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands;
and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 31: 10, 30, 31...KJV

Blessings for a great week ahead!

Hi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteWow! Such lovely treasures that certainly came to live in a good home!! The two samplers are just wonderful and I know you will do a fabulous job reproducing them! By the way, is what you are looking for a worm in the pie? The divided box with the heart is FABULOUS and I am very partial to hearts so I love it! The thread waxers are in great condition too, and the jar with funnel was such a deal, rust and all!! I saw some recently and they were asking over $100.00 for them!!!!! Thankfully I found one for $18.00, which I thought was a very good price!!!
Thanks for sharing such wonderful things each time you post!!
Enjoy your week!
Warm Hugs~
Julie
