~ Robins & Rabbits ~

Hello friends, hope you're enjoying a
lovely Friday.

This week has been full of wonderful discoveries
of new little bunnies, robins & nests.

Mama Robin who has her nest above my
Studio door is now very busy
feeding her babies....

I just had to get a better look, so I got up
on a ladder to investigate.....she hatched four babies, plus
what a great opportunity to snap a quick picture!

My next group of pictures was taken on the other side of the
farmhouse from a different mama robin....who is
experiencing problems with her babies
wanting to leave the nest!

This little robin is several weeks older than the ones above my door.
I didn't want to scare the little bird because it can't fly yet.

The closer I got the harder it tried to find safety by hopping
up into a nearby bush.

Poor little dear...just looks so bewildered.  I was happy to get these
couple pictures....as she was very FAST!

Moving on to the next bird family....this was discovered by
Samuel while he was mowing the lawn.

He got off the mower to move these two big goose decoys....

and as he got closer to the first one, he was about to lift it up....

When a mama bird flew out from underneath!

Reliable Sam always has his IPhone on him....so he snapped these
nice photos for my blog...thank you Sam.

We think it's a Brown Thrasher, she's sitting on two
beautiful brown eggs.

My most resent discovery was right on our back porch in a wicker
stand that has some small bee skeps in it....

Every time I walked out of the house I noticed this robin flying off the porch, at
first I didn't think much about it, until I realized she had pushed the one
bee skep over and underneath are the two most beautiful perfect
blue eggs!!

Now that I'm finally done sharing all my bird discoveries...I have one
more of Sam's discoveries....

Again Sam was mowing the lawn, but this time he discovered this sweet
little baby bunny.

Just way too cute!!

Now for some Studio updates.  I worked a little more on organizing
my framing area ....

I'm still hauling frames up from the basement....

The smaller ones work perfectly in the cubbies that used to
hold yarn.

Using some old treadle sewing machine drawers for my tools...works great!

This old muffin tin works really well for organizing nails & screws.

A single treadle drawer works perfect for my hammer & such.

On Monday I talked about doing an experiment with antiquing....

Here is the new product that I discovered at Michaels ~ Jim Holtz Distress Ink.

Before framing "Spring Meadow" I antiqued it using the "antique linen",
I just LOVE it...very quick and easy to work with.

I applied it using a small sponge & dabbing it randomly to
achieve a nice antiqued look.  A q~tip also works
nicely on small areas...give it a try if you're
looking for a quick antiquing method that is really user friendly & affordable!

Here is another book I'd like to share with you....

This is from the Tasha Tudor Collection.
Hardcover...160 pages.

This book is full of beautiful color photos and walks you through the life
of Tasha Tudor.

Truly a lovely book have in your home library.

The back cover shows a picture of her farmhouse & one of her granddaughters.

Do you have a favorite needle case in you sewing basket?

This is one of my favorite needle cases.

It came all the way from Poland...so lovely & peaceful to look at.

I always make sure I have extra needles in my sewing basket.

I haven't watched a good movie in a long time....in looking through our home
videos I decided to go with this one....

I've always enjoyed Pollyanna & the game her father taught her....
the "GLAD" game....to find something to be glad about
IN ALL THINGS :)

If you've never watched this movie, please check it out...you're
never to old or young to enjoy this lovely movie.

....and now I must end our time together, but I leave you with this
pleasant old picture ~

So until Monday, wishing everyone a very happy & safe
Memorial Day Weekend.

Blessings to all ~ from Scattered Seed Samplers
